"Coming In"- Acrylic On Canvas 14.5X36 I live in a lake community that is host to several migratory bird species. The Canada Goose is a constant visitor. This flight was coming in for a landing close to our clubhouse. The image was taken from the upper deck as they made their approach on the lake.
"Done For The Day"- Acrylic On Canvas 18X36 Living in the mid west, one sees a continuous presence of Canada Geese. Large migrations occur overhead throughout the Fall and Winter months. Farm ponds are a common rest stop for these large flights of geese. One such flight is coming in for the night in this painting. I chose to have the viewer be 'in the flock' as it descends.
"Morning Sun"- Oil On Canvas 16X20 My best buddy, Kurby, curls up on his favorite settee to soak up the morning sun. He does this every morning after eating his breakfast.
"Moonlight Landing"- Acrylic On Canvas 16X36 I have several friends who are goose hunters. They often tell stories about their hunts. I used to hunt as a young man, but now I choose to celebrate those same creatures rather than hunt them. Many of their hunts begin before the sun rises. Here, a flock decides to land on a local pond that hasn't frozen over.
"Rose By A Wall"- Oil On Canvas 16X20 Unity World Headquarters is located in my hometown. They have a beautiful and world renown rose garden located on its grounds. I was walking through the garden one day and saw this beautiful peach rose hiding behind the others and leaning against the stone wall. Its colors were so intense and just lit up the garden.
"Fence And Pheasant"- Acrylic On Canvas 14X36 Pheasant hunting is a popular sport in the mid west states. I don't hunt these magnificent birds, but I'm delighted that they are thriving in our area. They love to run the fence lines in rural areas. Here, a rooster struts his stuff through a fresh snow.
"Tiger Eyes"- Acrylic On Canvas 18X36 My high school mascot is the tiger. For many decades, the tiger reigned supreme in our town. Now, after a booming growth spurt, we have two more high schools and that means the tiger shares the stage with broncos and titans. Life goes on...
"Working Together"- Acrylics On Canvas 24X36 Those who know me understand why I paint trees in Fall plumage. It's truly my favorite time of year. The world is going to sleep from a long hot summer. And the holidays are just around the corner.
